Appreciation post: I finally sent an apology to my old landlord after 2 years of sitting on it
I wrote this letter to my old landlord in Portland about 2 years ago after I moved out and left the place a mess. I never sent it because I was too embarrassed. I found it in a drawer last week and finally mailed it, and he actually wrote back saying he appreciated it. I lost $200 of my deposit over it but honestly the letter felt better than the money. Has anyone else sat on an apology for this long and sent it later?

My buddy Dave held onto a note for his ex roommate for like 3 years, something about a broken coffee table and a missing $40. He finally dropped it in the mailbox and the guy replied with a Venmo request for the 40. Dave paid it just to close the loop, said it was weirdly freeing.
