Tried rewilding my tiny backyard and got a swarm of bees instead of butterflies

I tore up my lawn (about 200 square feet) in Portland last spring and planted native wildflowers. Thought I'd get monarchs and stuff, but three weeks later a honeybee swarm moved into my old compost bin. Local beekeeper came and took em, but now I'm paranoid about what else I'm inviting in. Anyone else get wildlife they didn't bargain for when trying to go green?

Think it's just the way nature works when you start messing with the balance. In my experience every change you make just shifts the guest list instead of controlling it. Your mileage may vary but sometimes you gotta roll with whatever shows up, bees or no bees.

Is it really that deep though? Sometimes people act like planting a few flowers is going to throw the whole planet out of whack. I figure a bee shows up or it doesn't, not like we're rewriting the laws of physics here.

Friend had raccoons move into her crawl space after planting berry bushes.
