Tried GPS routing vs my own knowledge for deliveries last week in Houston
I had to make 8 supply drops across town and decided to let Google Maps plan the route for half of them. For the other half I used my own mental map of traffic patterns and construction zones. The algorithm kept sending me down streets that looked faster on paper but were clogged with school zones and train crossings. Has anyone else found that local knowledge beats the algorithm in their city?

yeah algorithms just don't know about the random school zone slowdowns and train tracks like we do.

That "clogged with school zones" part really hit home. I used to trust the apps completely but now I'm starting to see how much they miss.

Ha, I used to think the apps knew everything. But after getting stuck behind a school bus twice in one day I totally changed my mind.
