Spent $120 on a 'smart' home security camera and now I feel watched in my own yard

Honestly, I got it because the app said it would only record when it saw a person, but it keeps sending me alerts for squirrels and shadows moving at night. Ngl, the constant pings on my phone make me jumpy, and I'm starting to wonder who else is seeing this feed. Has anyone else felt more paranoid after installing one of these things?

Ugh, I totally get that (and @dakota415, I wish mine made me feel safer instead of watched).

I actually feel way safer with mine on! It's just a tool, and you can always turn the alerts off if they bug you.

Funny how tools feel different to everyone (like my old car's backup camera). That thing just made me jumpy until I got used to it. Now I'd feel weird without the beeps.
