My feed went from chill to chaos in about two weeks

I follow a lot of nature photography accounts, and my feed was super peaceful. Then I watched one video about urban exploration in Detroit, just a single 10-minute clip. Now, for the past 14 days, my feed is nothing but abandoned buildings, conspiracy theories about old factories, and weirdly aggressive 'urbex' gear ads. It feels like the algorithm saw one click and decided my whole personality changed. Has anyone else had their entire feed pivot on one random video?

I watched one video about sourdough starter last year and my feed turned into a bakery war zone for months. Every single reel was people fighting about hydration levels or showing their "perfect ear" on a loaf. The algorithm decided I was suddenly a bread expert who needed constant updates on gluten development, lmao. It finally chilled out when I started searching for cat videos on purpose.

Search for random stuff like "how to fix a toaster" to confuse the algorithm fast.

Oh man, that's so real. I read something about how the algorithms are super twitchy now, like they're desperate to lock you into a new interest super fast. It's like they see one click and go "THIS IS YOUR WHOLE LIFE NOW." What @torres.thea said about the sourdough is exactly it, they just hammer one topic until you break. My friend's feed got taken over by tiny house videos after she looked up one photo, and now she gets ads for composting toilets every day. It's wild how hard they push.
