The one time I ignored the manual and ran a wire through a dryer vent
Customer in Akron had a brick wall with zero chase, so I used flexible conduit through the old vent pipe. Anyone ever get away with something like that without causing a fire hazard?

That's a disaster waiting to happen, lint buildup is no joke.

Lint buildup isn't the real issue there.

My buddy's dryer vent was basically clogged solid. He kept saying it was fine until his laundry room felt like a sauna one Tuesday. The repair guy pulled out this giant, dense brick of lint that looked like gray insulation. The whole thing could have gone up so easy.
