Accidentally made perfect crispy tofu after giving up on a recipe
I was trying to make crispy tofu cubes in my air fryer for the third time this month. Every batch came out either dry or rubbery. So I just tossed the tofu in a little cornstarch and salt, no pressing or marinating, and threw it in at 400 for 12 minutes without shaking once. The outside was crackly and the inside was soft. Anyone else find that less effort actually works better for certain things?

Nah, that's just luck, not a real technique you can count on.

Build on that luck by trying other shortcut methods too. I've found skipping steps sometimes gives better results than following the recipe exactly, like not draining canned beans before roasting them.

My buddy Jenna did the same thing with roasted chickpeas, just tossed them in oil and spices without soaking overnight, and they came out way crunchier than her careful batches. She still does it the lazy way every time now lol.
