The meeting bot transcribed my silence as agreement and now I'm stuck with a project
Last Tuesday my team rolled out an AI meeting assistant that writes summaries and flags action items. I dialed in from the airport in Denver because my flight was delayed, so I had my mic muted most of the call. Turns out the bot logged every pause and cough as a 'non-verbal confirmation' of the rollout plan. I came back to an email saying I'd volunteered to handle the data migration for the Q3 launch. I didn't even catch it until the reminder pinged me Thursday, three hours before the deadline. I spent the whole afternoon untangling a spreadsheet that turned out to be the wrong file version. Now we have a rule that nobody trusts the transcript until they read it out loud. Has anyone else had an AI tool invent your consent like that, and what did you do to fix it before it got worse?

Our Slack bot once turned a coworker's dropped call into a "strong agreement" on a budget cut, so now we all verify with a thumbs up emoji before anything counts. It took three revisions and a passive-aggressive spreadsheet to fix that one.
