My company's AI translation bot told a client their plumbing was 'sexually frustrated' last Tuesday

We were using this new AI tool to translate service notes for a Spanish-speaking customer and it turned 'pipe has abnormal pressure buildup' into something about the pipe's personal life, and now my whole crew keeps making jokes about emotionally unstable drains, has anyone else had an AI completely butcher something simple like that?

Oh man, that's hilarious and terrible at the same time! I can totally see how that would make the whole crew crack up though, that's gold for water cooler jokes. Hope your client had a sense of humor about it!

Yeah I actually read something about how clients are getting more used to this kind of stuff now since AI is everywhere. I heard somewhere that like 60% of people have had at least one weird AI moment at work this year. Maybe it's just me but I feel like those blunders make the technology feel more human and less scary.
