A beta tester told me my AI prompts were too vague, now I break them into steps

Some random dev on a Discord server pointed out I was asking for 'a blog post' instead of 'a first draft with 3 bullet points and a casual tone.' I tried it on my last 6 project writeups and the outputs are way more usable, has anyone else hit this wall with phrasing?

Three years ago I asked my crew to "clean up the site" before a big inspection, and they each took that to mean something different. One guy swept, one organized the lumber, one just picked up trash, and the inspector still found issues. Now I say things like "stack the shingles on the north pallet and sweep the driveway before lunch" and it saves us an hour of redo work. Breaking things into exact steps is just how people actually communicate when they want something done right, so it makes sense your AI drafts would work the same way.
