I finally found a way to stop my mail from piling up on the counter

I bought a cheap wall file holder for $12 at Target and now I open everything right by the door. Anyone have a better system for dealing with the daily paper flood?

Got a small trash can right next to the wall holder. Junk mail never even makes it to the file. Bills go in one slot, personal stuff in another. Works pretty well.

Oh that's smart! I used to let mail pile up on my kitchen counter until my cat started knocking it everywhere. Now I have a basket by the door just for the important stuff, and the rest goes straight to recycling. It's cut down on so much clutter.

Wait, you open mail right when you walk in? I used to think that was overkill, but maybe it's the only way to actually deal with it.
