My guitar tuning app's 'popular tunings' list is quietly steering me away from weird sounds I love.

That's so true what @west.seth said about finding stuff by accident. It happens everywhere, not just with tuning. I get the same feeling when I cook without a recipe and just throw in what smells good. Following the exact steps never seems to turn out as interesting, you know? It's like planning too hard just kills the chance for something cool to happen.

Swore off corner beads for years, but a curved wall installation shifted my view.

Ever had a project fail from skipping steps like @quinnr58 said?

Vent: My coworker keeps taking my desk stuff without asking

My favorite blue pen vanished last Tuesday, and I found it in the break room with a bite mark. At this rate, I'm gonna need a GPS tracker for my stapler. Maybe we should just install a lending library with a check-out system... or you know, people could actually ask.

Seeing more companies build exit doors that are nearly invisible

My buddy built a store where the main door was hard to find on purpose. The design contract included extra pay for "customer flow management" when complaints rolled in. They just monetize getting people turned around.

Thinking back to landline days and what we've given up for convenience...

That point about letting tech get too close hits home. I see it everywhere now, like how my TV suggests shows based on conversations near it. We just accept that our devices are always listening because it makes things easier. But then you realize your ads are weirdly specific after talking about a product once. It's like we're all part of a big, quiet experiment where nobody reads the terms. Funny how we call that progress.
