Hot take: I miss the hands-on mapping from my early digs before tech took over
Everyone talks about how LiDAR and drones make digs better, but I feel we're missing out. Back in my early projects, we spent weeks mapping sites by hand, and you could almost feel the past under your fingers. Now, with all the tech, it's quick, but that slow work gave you a real bond with the site. I get that things change, but let's not toss out the old ways completely.
