A mistaken backyard entry led to my best friendship

I was cutting through what I thought was an empty lot behind my apartment. It was actually a surprise birthday bash for a guy named Tom, who lived two doors down. Everyone cheered when I walked in, thinking I was part of the plan. Tom handed me a burger and we ended up talking for hours. He later invited me on a camping trip that became a regular thing. That accidental crash turned me from a loner into someone with a solid crew. Now I always check for party signs before taking shortcuts.

Talk about low security... the password is 'burger'.

Honestly, can you even blame the guy for walking in? I mean, if the bar is that low, I'd probably wander in too just to see what happens. I've been in places where I felt like I wasn't supposed to be there, like a wrong office floor or a party that seemed too quiet, and it's so awkward. Makes you realize how many places just run on vibes instead of actual rules. Idk, maybe it's just me but that kind of no-security thing happens way more than people admit.

Imagine having friends so chill they'd just adopt a random guy who wandered in, lmao. Their security protocol is basically "looks friendly, give him a burger.

Wait, nobody at this party questioned a total stranger walking in? That's some impressively bad guest list checking. I'm shocked the birthday guy just went with it instead of being weirded out. Guess his friends are really committed to the surprise bit.
