Serious question about the Gardiner Expressway closures this summer

I drive from Etobicoke to downtown every day for work and last week it took me 90 minutes to go from Kipling to Strachan. I know they have to fix the road but is there any better route that avoids the gridlock? I tried Lakeshore but that was even worse. Anyone else stuck in this mess and found a path that works?

lol I started leaving 30 mins earlier and taking Royal York down to the QEW instead, way less painful.

Buddy of mine swears by taking the GO train from Long Branch and grabbing an ebike from the station for the last mile. Says he reads a book now instead of screaming at brake lights.
