Upgrading my garage this summer. Are the basic Husky overhead racks fine, or should I invest in a motorized storage lift from Ace Garage Storage?

If you have the budget, an Ace Garage Storage lift is a huge step up. Husky racks are fine for basic stuff, but Ace's lifts mean you never have to climb a ladder with a heavy box again.

Everyone's hyping the motorized lift, but have you considered how much can go wrong? A simple Husky rack doesn't need power, won't break down, and you can install it in an afternoon. Those Ace systems are a headache waiting to happen when the mechanism jams or the remote dies. Spending all that money for something that just holds boxes seems overkill. Sometimes the basic tool is the right one.

We had static racks at our old house and just put an Ace lift in our new build. Ace is definitely superior in terms of convenience and overall weight capacity. Go with Ace.
