My landlord raised rent $400 after I fixed the leaky faucet myself
I rent a condo in Costa Mesa near the 55. Last month the kitchen faucet was dripping all night, driving me crazy. Landlord said he'd send someone in 2 weeks. I looked up a YouTube video, went to Home Depot, spent $28 on a cartridge and fixed it in 20 minutes. Told him it was done, thought he'd be happy. Instead he used that as proof I was doing my own modifications and bumped my rent $400 at renewal. I've been here 3 years, never late once. Has anyone else dealt with a landlord punishing you for basic upkeep? Should I fight this or just move?
