Question about picking movie critics to follow

Ngl, it's hard when one critic loves a movie and another hates it. I started looking for critics who talk about story and characters in a way that makes sense to me.

Have you ever picked a critic just because they hated a movie you loved? I remember following this one reviewer who trashed my favorite comedy, and I ended up watching all the films he panned, lol. It turned into this weird project where I found some real gems that way. Now I almost look for critics who disagree with me on purpose. It sounds backwards, but it helped me see what I actually like in stories. Sometimes the worst reviews point you to the best movies for your own taste, and that's how I found my go-to critic.

RogerEbert.com was my starting point for critics who really break down the acting. It's a total headache when their tastes don't line up at all.
