Oh, completely agree. Anthony's point about grunts carrying weight is so true. In a contractor bid meeting yesterday, my thoughtful groan over a material cost was interpreted as outright rejection. Spent the next half hour reassuring them I was just calculating, not criticizing. It's made me hyper-aware of every noise I make in discussions now.

Growing up, I always assumed grunts were just meaningless noises. A few years back, a colleague pointed out how my own frustrated sounds during a budget meeting came across as outright opposition.
