My kid's crayon drawings are messing with my color palette ideas

In my experience, trying to find color inspiration from my toddler's art is harder than it sounds. My living room is covered in bright, chaotic scribbles that clash with every mood board I start. Now every time I sit down to design, all I can think about is purple elephants on orange grass. Your mileage may vary, but it's throwing off my whole process.

Those chaotic scribbles might be the exact creative jumpstart you need. What if you built a whole palette around that purple elephant energy?

That purple elephant could launch a whole series of wild animal color palettes.

Actually... building palettes around crazy colors feels kind of forced for wild animals. The original magic is in their real colors, you know? That natural gray of an elephant has more depth than any purple could. Forcing a theme like that just makes everything look cheap and same-y after a while.
