Unpopular opinion: Trashing my old marathon plans was a relief
I used to dream about running a marathon... trained for months but kept getting injured. One day I just threw out my running logs and stopped forcing it. Figuring out that my body wasn't built for it helped me let go. Now I'm happier with short walks, though part of me still misses the idea.

26.2 miles of pure regret, that's what marathons are. I tried training once and my legs staged a mutiny. Ngl, walking the dog is my peak performance now.

Tried jogging around the block once and my lungs filed a formal complaint. Made it to the first lamppost before I had to lean against a fence, pretending to tie my shoe for five minutes. My knees still send me hate mail about that day. Now my idea of cardio is chasing the remote control when it falls between the couch cushions. I fully support your dog walking peak performance, it sounds like a solid life choice.

Couldn't the finish line feel worth it?
