PSA: Watch out for those sneaky bank account maintenance fees

Honestly, I just got hit with a $15 monthly fee because my balance dipped below the minimum. Tbh, I had no idea it was even a thing until the charge showed up. It's so annoying because the bank never clearly explained it when I opened the account. Now I'm scrambling to move my money around to avoid it next month.

What gets me is how they time these fees. I mean, it always seems to happen when you're already low on cash, right? Idk, maybe it's just me, but that feels intentional, like they're banking on you not having the energy to fight it. And then moving money around is such a hassle, especially if you're using multiple accounts. It's like a hidden tax for being broke, which is pretty messed up.

But those agreements are impossible to read (and they know it). Burying key details in fifty pages of legalese is a choice, not an excuse. It's just a bad way to treat people.
