Vent: I just counted 27 unfinished design sketches in my portfolio.
It hit me that I keep starting new ideas before finishing old ones, like this half-done jumpsuit concept from three weeks ago. Anyone else get stuck in a cycle of starting projects but not seeing them through?

Ever think maybe your brain just needs to play with the fun part first? I heard some artists call those sketches "idea compost" where you let things sit and mix together. You might come back and finish the best ones when they've had time to grow.

Consider it a sign of a busy creative mind, not a failure. Most of my best work started as a forgotten sketch. The pressure to finish everything can kill the joy of starting.

Most of my best work started as a forgotten sketch" is a nice thought but it's a bit romantic. Usually a forgotten sketch is just a forgotten sketch. You might come back to one or two but most are just dead ends, and that's fine too.
