Saw a stat that 60% of Americans have less than $1,000 in savings and it made me rethink my whole budget.

Found it on a government site while looking up something else, and it hit me hard because I'm barely above that myself. Has anyone else restructured their finances after seeing a number that freaked them out?

and honestly that stat is way too real for me too. i mean i've definitely been in that spot where a single car repair would have wiped me out completely. it's scary because you think you're doing okay but then you see numbers like that and realize how fragile everything is. i ended up cutting my streaming services and eating out way less just to build up a tiny cushion. it's not much but at least i don't panic every time my check engine light comes on.
