My kid asked a stranger about his purple hair. Awkward, but it made me see how adults complicate simple conversations.

Think about the stranger's view. Adults might hold back to keep things calm.

Ugh, I'm with @wells.zara, sometimes I wish we could just hand out "you're being rude" flyers.

Last Tuesday I saw a guy cut in line at the grocery store and just let it go. It was so frustrating but I didn't want to make a scene over bread and milk. You're totally right about holding back to keep things calm, it happens all the time. I've had so many moments where speaking up would just turn a small thing into a big, awkward mess. It feels like you're swallowing your real feelings just to get through the day. What's the last thing you bit your tongue about?

But why do we always assume strangers want peace more than honesty? Like what if they'd rather know they're being rude.
