During a repair, I saw how a wifi car remembers every trip

I was fixing a connected car and noticed it saves all the driver's locations and routines. This really worried me about who can peek at this data when it's in the shop! Where do we set limits on car tech to protect people's privacy?

Man, my friend took his car to a chain repair place last month. The mechanic there casually mentioned his exact home address and his kid's school while handing back the keys, just from glancing at the trip history. It felt super invasive, like the car was just telling all its secrets to anyone who plugged in.

Yikes, my friend's dealership mechanic once mentioned her usual gym time after a routine check. It's like they're casually reading your diary out loud.

Think of your car blabbing your every move to the repair guy! @miller.rowan's experience shows how creepy this can get. We should make cars forget things, like a goldfish, to keep our lives private.
