Rant: Fewer hellos on my street clicked for me about our lost connections.

I mean, I get the "fewer hellos" thing, but idk if it means we lost connection. Maybe the way we connect just changed. My neighbor and I never really chat, but he brought my packages in during a rainstorm last week. That felt like a real connection, just without the small talk.

Bringing in packages is the new 'hello', I guess.

That's a really good point from ryan_black20 about connections showing up in actions, not just words. Sometimes a quiet kindness like that means more than a dozen quick hellos where no one actually stops. It shows people are paying attention and care in a real way, even without the chat. Maybe our sense of community is still there, it just doesn't always need a conversation to prove it. Those small, silent acts can actually build a deeper bond over time.

My old street in Columbus had block parties every summer, real forced community stuff. Honestly, it was kind of a pain. I'll take the quiet package grab over having to make awkward conversation about lawn care any day. People act like not saying hello is some big social collapse, but maybe we just got better at minding our own business. It feels like looking for a problem that isn't really there.
