Just counted my wire nuts and hit a weirdly round number

I was cleaning out my work van yesterday, sorting all my small parts into bins. When I got to the wire nuts, I started counting just to see what I had. I hit exactly 1,000 of the little red ones. It felt so random, like why do I have a full thousand of just that one size? I guess I've been grabbing a bag here and there for years without really keeping track. Anyone else ever find a stash of something that made you stop and laugh?

Weird, right? I swear stuff like that happens way more often than chance would allow. The universe just loves little round numbers for no good reason.

Victor's got a point about it happening more than chance. I read once that our brains are just wired to notice round numbers and ignore all the times the count is 973 or something messy. We only remember the hits, not the misses. So it feels like a weird pattern but it's really just selective memory. The universe doesn't care about our base ten system.

Maybe the universe just loves little round numbers because we're the ones who made them up in the first place?
