I swore off those quick set joint compounds for years, but a job in Tempe changed my mind.

Had a client who needed a patch finished in a single day for an inspection. My buddy forced a bag of USG Sheetrock 90 into my truck. It set up rock hard in under an hour and sanded smooth with almost no dust. Now I keep a bag on hand for small repairs. What's another product you guys were wrong about?

For me it was that green lid wood glue. Always thought it was just for school projects, but I used it on a wobbly chair leg and clamped it overnight. That thing is never coming apart again, it's stronger than the original wood. I keep a bottle in the junk drawer now for quick fixes around the house.

You're right about that green lid glue, @the_taylor. It's shockingly good for how cheap it is. I fixed a kitchen cabinet door with it years ago and the hinge is still solid. Makes you wonder why anyone buys the fancy stuff for basic repairs.

Yeah, beth_singh is right. That cheap glue is a lifesaver for quick fixes.
