Hot take: Dream phones dont work like real phones and thats fine
I see everyone in here complaining about how frustrating it is when you try to dial 911 in a dream and the numbers keep changing or the buttons dont press. But honestly I think that specific glitch is actually useful. I had a dream last week where I was being chased by a giant mailbox and instead of calling for help I suddenly remembered that dream logic means I can just fly away or make a door appear. Once I stopped fighting the phone thing and leaned into it my dreams got way less stressful. Has anyone else just accepted the broken phone thing instead of getting mad at it every time?

Did you find it took a few tries to unlearn that instinct" - yeah, exactly this. Took me a solid month of dreams. I kept wrestling with my phone like a caveman trying to open a jar. Then one night I was being chased by a giant talking muffin and instead of dialing I just clapped my hands together and a door appeared behind a tree. Wasn't even trying to do it. Felt like remembering a password I'd forgotten my whole life. @lewis.terry that helicopter thing is genius though. I've never tried summoning transportation that way. Going to give it a shot tonight if my brain cooperates instead of throwing me into a high school exam nightmare.

That specific glitch is actually useful" is a hell of a way to frame it but you might be onto something. Did you find it took a few tries to unlearn that instinct to fight the phone and actually remember you can change the rules? I still catch myself getting mad at the dial pad before I remember I can just will a helicopter to land on the roof.

The giant talking muffin part got me. That's the kind of dream logic that makes you wonder why we ever bother with phones at all. I had a dream once where I was locked in a closet. Instead of pulling out my phone, I just calmly told the closet wall that it was actually a hallway. And sure enough, it turned into a hallway. The weird thing is, now when I'm awake and something goes wrong, I catch myself waiting for the wall to shift. Like I'll be stuck in traffic and think, if this were a dream, I'd just change the road. It's a dangerous habit to carry over into real life. But I agree, once you stop fighting the broken phone and start playing by dream rules, everything gets a lot more interesting.
