Went from hating caulk guns to actually liking them after one job last month

I always fought with those cheap drippy guns until my boss handed me a ratcheting one on a tub surround in Phoenix. Now I can't imagine going back, has anyone else made the switch?

My first caulk gun was a $5 special from Home Depot that dripped like a stuck faucet. I was doing a kitchen backsplash in Mesa and had silicone running down the side of the counter because that stupid trigger couldn't hold pressure. My buddy handed me a Milwaukee ratcheting gun and it was night and day. That thing locks solid and you can let go of the trigger without losing a drop. Only took me 15 years to figure out there's a better way.

Nah hard disagree here @oliverhernandez, those cheap guns have a feel to them that the expensive ones just don't have, and you can always just wipe up a drip with a rag.

Feel you on this one Simon, it's rough when you finally realize you've been making things harder on yourself for years. I had a similar wakeup call with my old caulk gun and it still makes me cringe thinking about all the wasted time cleaning up drips. Sometimes you just gotta try the nicer tool to really get why people swear by em.
