Why does nobody talk about the tile work at the new library in Springfield?

I went there yesterday and the grout lines in the main entry are a complete mess, some are a quarter inch wide and others are almost touching. It looks like they let a kid do it with a butter knife. Has anyone else seen a public project with such sloppy finish work?

Have you tried contacting the city's public works department? I had a similar issue with a park sidewalk. A call to the project manager got them to send the tile contractor back out to fix the worst spots. It's worth a shot.

Oh that's a great idea, @victorh81! My buddy had a busted curb cut on his street and he called the public works number. They actually sent a guy out the next week to take pictures and put in a work order. It got fixed about a month later, which he said was way faster than he expected.

Yeah I noticed that too, it's pretty bad. The grout around the base of the information desk is the worst part, totally uneven. They must have rushed the job at the end.

Call the project manager directly, they usually have a punch list for this exact stuff.
