My old boss insisted we stop buying Facebook ads for a local restaurant client, said they were a waste.
He argued the budget was better spent on Google Ads because people searching for food were ready to buy. We switched the $2k monthly spend over, and their leads dropped by half in three months. Has anyone else had a platform switch backfire that badly?

Ugh, that's rough. We had a client who only wanted to do Instagram because "that's where the people are." Their product was industrial parts, so it was a total mismatch. We finally got them to try LinkedIn ads and their cost per lead dropped like 80% in a month. Sometimes the boss's gut feeling is just wrong, and you need the platform that fits the actual customer.

Yeah, I was reading something about this last week. It said the hardest part is getting them to agree to a small test run in the first place. Once you have real numbers from their own money, like @sean_cooper58 showed, it's harder to argue with. The gut feeling thing is tough because it feels personal, but bad numbers are just bad numbers.

Yeah, that's a solid point from @sean_cooper58. How do you even start convincing a boss who's stuck on the wrong platform like that? Just showing them the numbers after the fact seems like the only way.
