My new client's old agency charged them $3k a month for 'brand awareness' with zero tracking
They couldn't show a single lead or sale from 8 months of work. How is that still a thing in 2024?

Ugh, that's so frustrating. I saw the same thing with a local shop paying for "social media management" that was just posting random pictures. It's wild that places can still operate like that with no proof.

Honestly, I get why that looks bad, but brand stuff is weird. Sometimes you're just paying to get your name out there, and that's hard to measure with a simple link click. Not every ad needs to lead straight to a sale to be worth something, you know? It just depends on what they agreed to in the first place.

Yeah, the "no proof" part gets me. I read a piece last week calling it "marketing malpractice." How can you take that much money and not even set up basic tracking? It feels like a total breach of trust. Clients are smarter now, they expect to see what they're paying for.
