Found a cheap way to handle my shop's parking lot potholes before they got worse
My shop sits right off Gratiot and every spring the potholes start eating my customers' tires before they even get to the door. I tried calling the city twice and got the runaround both times, so I looked into those bagged cold patch mixes from Home Depot. Took me and my buddy about two hours on a Saturday to fill maybe 8 holes, cost around $90 total for the mix and a tamper I had in the back. It's not a perfect fix, but it held up through a few heavy rains last month and nobody's hit a rim since. I'm wondering if anyone else around Detroit has tried the hot mix option or if you just budget for a real sealcoat company each year. Has anyone found a faster way to patch that actually lasts more than one season?

Skip the hot mix unless you got a crew to lay it right. Cold patch buys you time but it's not gonna survive a full Michigan winter. Sealcoat company is the real fix when you can swing it.
