Tried the one-touch rule in my pantry and it broke the whole system
I was at my sister's place in Austin last month and she made me hold every can and box once before putting it back, and now I've tossed 23 expired items I didn't even know existed, so has anyone else found that touching stuff makes you actually decide instead of just shifting it around?

Three boxes of old pasta and a jar of pickles from 2019 later, I'm still not sure this counts as a system. Touching stuff just made me feel bad about wasting money, so I shoved everything back and closed the door. My pantry has a 10-inch deep dead zone in the back where expired granola goes to retire, and I'm fine with that. Honestly, the only rule I follow is if it smells like a science fair project, it's out. Twenty-three items sounds like you were just neglecting the whole shelf for years, not that touch was the magic fix.
