The 15-minute kitchen drawer rule finally broke my clutter cycle

I kept putting off the junk drawer because it felt like a whole weekend project. Last Tuesday I set a timer for 15 minutes and just pulled everything out onto the counter. Turns out most of it was old takeout menus and random keys, so I tossed a whole grocery bag of stuff. Now I use a cutlery tray from the dollar store to keep it sorted, and it takes me 2 minutes to tidy instead of avoiding it for weeks. Has anyone else tried a short timer trick on a spot you kept avoiding?

Start with a timer and suddenly your brain stops being dramatic about it. Did the same thing with my bathroom cabinet, found like 4 half-used sunscreens from 2019. Honestly the key part is just STARTING, the timer tricks you into thinking it's a game. Now I set timers for everything, laundry, emails, even sorting my phone photos. It's stupid how well it works.
