Paid $120 for a storage unit organizer app, still use cardboard boxes

Last spring I bought into the whole digital declutter hype and dropped $120 on that app that promises to catalog every box and bin you own. I spent two weekends photographing and labeling everything in my garage and basement. Six months later I opened the app exactly once, and that was to delete it. Cardboard boxes with a sharpie marker work better because I actually look at them when I'm hunting for the Christmas lights. Has anyone else paid real money for organizing systems that just became another thing to manage?
