That 4am text from my foreman changed how I read job sites
Last month in Tulsa he sent a photo of a cracked footing at 4am and asked what I saw. I said the obvious crack, but he meant the water stain above it, leaked pipe behind the wall. Has anyone else had a boss who teaches by making you look twice instead of just telling you?

MAN I love that teaching style! I actually heard a podcast about this exact thing last week, they called it "the second look method" and it stuck with me. That water stain detail is GENIUS because once you see it, you can't unsee it. I had a superintendent once who'd circle a random spot on a blueprint and just stare at me until I figured it out, usually it was some tiny notch or clearance issue. The lesson is always about context, not just the obvious damage. It makes you slow down and read the WHOLE story on a site, not just the headline. That foreman knows what he's doing.
