My boss said taking Fridays off for pottery was lazy, so I tracked what my studio sales actually did
I work 4 days a week at a warehouse in Akron and throw pots on Fridays, and my manager called it a hobby that would never pay. Last quarter I sold 31 mugs at the farmers market for $45 each, which came out to more than I made in overtime all year. He stopped bringing it up after I showed him the numbers, but I still think the hustle culture thing about side work being a waste is just wrong. Has anyone else had a boss get weird about the thing you actually care about?
