Serious question, why does cold water hurt my teeth but hot coffee never does?
Last Tuesday at my dentist in Sacramento I asked about it and she just said 'sensitivity' like that explains anything. Anyone actually know the real reason one temp hurts and the other doesn't?
Your dentist said "sensitivity" and sent you on your way? Mine did the same thing, so I looked it up, and it turns out cold hits the nerves through tiny tubules in exposed dentin while heat usually only bugs you if there's actual decay or a cracked tooth. Did yours check for receding gums or a worn filling, or just hand you the word and call it a day?
