The 99 cent store price tags that ruined my grocery math
Stopped at the dollar store on 5th Ave today for paper towels and grabbed a snack too. The shelf said 99 cents but the register rang up $1.29, and the cashier just shrugged like it was normal. Turns out they stopped updating half the price stickers after their last restock, and the manager told me "yeah, we know." Has anyone else caught this at their local spot, or is it just mine being lazy with the label gun?

Aw man, I gotta disagree with you on this one. I hit up the dollar store on 4th all the time and honestly, if a sticker says 99 cents I expect to pay 99 cents. But I also get that restocking is a mess right now, every store is short staffed and the price tags get old. What bugs me more is when they scan wrong and the cashier just acts like you're crazy for questioning it. Like, a dollar store is supposed to be the one place where the math is easy, you know? I'd rather they just leave the shelf empty than have a price that's a lie. But yeah, your store might actually be lazy, mine at least fixes it if you point it out.
