The bus station clock in Columbus that was 14 minutes fast

I was catching the 7:40 Greyhound to Chicago and based my whole timing on that terminal clock. Turns out it ran fast, so I missed my ride and had to wait 3 hours for the next one. After that, I pulled out my phone to check the time and realized I'd been trusting a broken fixture out of habit. Anyone else ever gotten burned by trusting public signage over your own stuff?

Public clocks and I have a long history of mutual disrespect. Last month I trusted a pharmacy sign that said 3:15, which of course meant I was an hour early for a dentist appointment. Ended up sitting in the waiting room reading a year-old magazine about celebrity workouts. Probably should have learned my lesson after the airport incident, but my brain apparently thinks analog is more trustworthy than the thing in my pocket that literally syncs to satellites. Now I just assume every public fixture is lying to me, which feels like a reasonable approach to modern life.
