The $65 parking ticket I avoided by walking in Milwaukee
Drove 20 minutes to a doctor's appointment near the lakefront, saw the lot wanted $12 and the street meter maxed at 2 hours. I parked 4 blocks out and walked, then found out later the clinic ran 45 minutes behind. Saved the ticket money but my knee was killing me by the time I walked back. Anyone else pick the longer walk just to dodge a probable citation?

...and honestly that's usually the right call even when it hurts. I always scope out the free street parking a few blocks out before I commit to a lot, especially for appointments since they never run on time. The way I see it, a sore knee beats a $65 hit to the wallet every single time, and you can stretch your legs on the walk back to make it feel like a win.
