Last month I was stuck on a scene where two characters just sat in a diner talking about nothing. For three days I kept rewriting the same dialogue until I tried swapping the setting to a car wash at 2 AM with the wipers going and the radio half static. Suddenly the tension clicked because they had to shout over the noise and every pause felt loaded. I literally sat in my driveway for an hour testing the vibe before I wrote it out.
