Appreciation post: the handwritten outline beat my color-coded app after 6 weeks
I spent a whole month using Trello to plan my novel chapters. Color labels, due dates, checklists, the works. And honestly it looked SO nice and organized. But then I kept opening the app and just staring at the cards without actually writing anything. Last Tuesday I grabbed a legal pad and numbered each chapter by hand with a red pen. I scribbled little arrows and crossed things out when the plot moved. Something about the physical act made the story click in my head. I finished a full outline in 2 hours and hit 4,000 words the next day. It felt like my brain finally connected to the page instead of a screen. Has anyone else found that going low-tech totally unlocks their plotting process?
