That load chart seminar in Milwaukee got me thinking about flaggers
I sat through a two hour presentation on load chart math last Tuesday, but the thing that stuck with me was the speaker talking about how flaggers often get treated like they're just furniture. He said he watched a crew blow a whole afternoon because nobody listened to the flagger about a tight corner on a downtown street. It made me realize we lean on those folks way more than we admit, especially when we're swinging blind behind a building. Has anyone else had a close call that came down to trusting the signal person over your own view?

That flagger thing is just like how people tune out the crossing guard at a school or the guy waving you into a tight parking spot, we only notice they're right when we're already halfway in the mess.
