Spent $300 on a fancy magnetic level for my cab that I never use, but my partner swears by his old-school bubble level.

I bought it thinking it would speed up my setup on a big steel job in Toledo, but honestly, I just glance at the crane's own indicators and find the magnet gets in the way more than it helps, so what's your take on fancy gadgets versus basic, trusted tools?

Yeah, my buddy had the same thing with a laser level... he went back to his old string line after a week.

Right? @murray.jana, my brother-in-law did the exact same thing. He said the laser was just another thing to charge and worry about.
