Barber scissors vs shears, does the brand really matter?

I spent 6 months in Dallas using cheap shears from a beauty supply store and my hand would cramp by the third haircut. Switched to a pair my coworker let me borrow, same blade length, and the difference in fatigue was huge. Anyone else notice the weight distribution makes or breaks your day, or is it just me?

Honestly, that post just changed how I look at this. I used to grab whatever was on sale and figured it was all the same, but then I borrowed a nicer pair for a weekend gig and my wrist felt normal after a full day. The cheap ones I had were top-heavy and it really wore you down, so I get the cramping thing completely. Now I'll actually test the balance before I buy anything.
