A bride told me my updo looked 'too perfect' and it stung

Last month in Austin I did a wedding trial and she said my work looked like a mannequin. I switched from using a ton of pinning spray to letting the hair move naturally with just a few bobby pins. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made them rethink their whole technique?
